What is a Cart Goal?
A cart goal is a strategic tool used in e-commerce platforms to encourage customers to increase their purchase amounts. It typically involves setting a target purchase amount that, when reached, unlocks certain benefits for the customer, such as free shipping, a discount, or a free gift. The idea is to incentivize customers to add more items to their cart, thereby increasing the average order value.
Benefits of Implementing a Cart Goal
Increase Average Order Value: By setting a purchase target that customers need to reach to gain a reward, you naturally encourage them to buy more.
Enhance Customer Experience: Offering rewards for reaching specific cart totals can enhance the shopping experience, making customers feel valued and encouraging repeat business.
Reduce Cart Abandonment: By offering incentives to reach a certain cart total, you can decrease the likelihood of customers abandoning their carts.
Promote Specific Products: You can use cart goals to promote specific items by including them as free gifts or by offering discounts on them as part of the cart goal incentive.
In the Shopify theme editor, we have introduced settings that allow you to customize cart goals based on different currencies. This feature is designed to help you encourage customers to reach a specified cart value to qualify for benefits such as free shipping.
Cart Goal Settings Overview:
Enable Cart Goal:
Toggle the option to enable or disable the cart goal feature. When enabled, this feature will display cart goals only for your store's main currency.
Cart Goal Values:
Set specific cart goal values for various currencies to cater to your international customers. The currencies available include:
USD (United States Dollar): Set the cart goal value in USD.
AUD (Australian Dollar): Set the cart goal value in AUD.
EUR (Euro): Set the cart goal value in EUR.
GBP (British Pound): Set the cart goal value in GBP.
CAD (Canadian Dollar): Set the cart goal value in CAD.
